JAPAN PACKING GUIDE

You are ready for your trip to Japan. Everything is done. Tickets are booked, hostels as well, you got your JR PASS to use the bullet trains, you know where to go. The only thing is to pack your suitcase. It can be tricky, specially with not knowing the weather and what kind of goodies you are about to buy to take them back with you.


In the following I'll write down how to manage a big and small suitcase so that you have still plenty of room for all the things you need.

CHECK LIST - JAPAN

No matter winter or summer. These things should be in your suitcase, because it gets cold during the nights and the wind can be unpredictable. On the other side, in summers its unbearable hot and what to wear to feel good is as basic as your coffee or tea in the morning. Daily clothes for travelling included.

CLOTHING - BASICS AND MORE

7 Pairs of Socks and Underwear 2 Bras 2 T-Shirts 1 Denim 1 Comfy Trousers / Yoga Pants / Leggings 1 Thin tights 1 Thick tights 1 Shorts

1 Regular jumper/pullover 1 Dress 1 Skirt

JAPAN IN WINTER

Hat & Scarf / 100% cotton. Perfect for allergy sufferer

Gloves / water & wind proofed, super warm, no need to take them off while using your phone


JAPAN IN SUMMER

Sandals or Flip Flops

2 Wide T-Shirts

2 Tank Tops

2 Wide Trousers

Base cap

Sunglasses

1 light cardigan

1 light jumper

TOILETRIES - Eco-friendly, because we care about the planet

Toothbrush Toothpaste / in case you don't like the flavour of coconut Toothpaste. CLICK HERE! Floss

Hair Ties / for people with longer hair Ear plugs / Because it can get load in Hostels or wherever you stay. Not organic.

Razor & Shaving cream / Depending on you like it to be wild or not

Dirty laundry bag / Vegan friendly. Tote bag or any with a zip are fine

Umbrella / You could, but it gets really windy at times. Your choice

Power bank / a beast of a power bank. Solar, flash light, fan and charging your phone

Plane Tickets / printed or on your phone

Health Insurance

Travel Insurance

PASMO Card / Prepaid Card that saves a lot of money

Drivers Licence / In case you have one, but you have to translate it in Japanese

Credit / Debit Card

Cash / 10000 Yen. You get some straight from an ATM in the airport Extra Document with important numbers in case of an emergency.

Copies of every single documents and cards. Keep them save in different locations. The same for all extra information about Hostels, B&B's, places you stay or want to go.


Pain Reliever such as Paracetamol / Ibuprofen / AspirinVitamins Something for Mosquito Bites, because those are itchy as hell

RANDOM GOODIES I CANNOT WITHOUT Nintendo 3 DS and several games

Sweets

Lip Balm / I get super dry lips & problems with spices
